As someone that became a professional dancer after rehabilitating my own severe movement restrictions established at birth due to Cerebral Palsy, I understand how the quality of life is affected by how well you can (or can’t) move your body. At the height of my pain and movement limitations, I made discoveries that would forever improve my situation and eventually help other people reach their individual goals and overcome their own movement limitations. For the last 12 years, I have been applying my discoveries about the natural physics of the body, key movement principles and physical alignment correction techniques to the program that Joseph Pilates pioneered over 80 years ago. As a result, McEntire Pilates has evolved into a modern Pilates program that brings tangible hope for those that have been everywhere and tried everything. My staff would be glad to explore McEntire Pilates with you and develop a plan to overcome your individual limitations and help you get your life back. I look forward to seeing you at our center.
Trent McEntire, Director
Professional Bio: I am an international Pilates educator with over 12 years of experience teaching and lecturing in universities, Pilates studios, physical therapy clinics, spas and athletic clubs. McEntire Pilates is a method developed out of discoveries that I made while rehabilitating my own severe movement limitations due to Cerebral Palsy. I have spent over 25,000 hours with clients developing a modern approach to Pilates designed to help other people overcome their specific movement limitations. I am proud of the professional instructor training curriculum that I have built that offers a step-by-step approach to learning how to teach McEntire Pilates. I also present workshops throughout the country for the industry's leading associations and conferences.
I currently serve as the President on the Board of Directors for the Pilates Method Alliance® (The only international organization that defines the parameter of Pilates teaching and expertise). I am honored to be the first Master Teacher in the U.S. for ActivCore (originating from Norway 1991). I hold a B.F.A. in Dance from Western Michigan University, where I was named the Presidential Scholar in Dance and earned the Irving S. Gilmore Emerging Artist Grant. My clients include elite athletes, dancers and those that have had their life restricted from injuries, movement limitations and postural misalignments.
