Welcome to "The Massage Spot" where Modern meets Zen. Our Vision is to create a boutique mini day spa. This mini day spa will aim at taking the full service day spa amenities and trimming them down while maintaining the spa atmosphere and great service. Our vision is to create an experience of affordable luxury for everyone to enjoy.

What is a mini day spa?

A mini day spa is a trimmed-down version of a full-service day spa. A mini day spa does not provide the full amenities of a full-service day spa such as locker rooms, steam/sauna, and showers, but it maintains the same relaxing atmosphere, excellent customer service, and quality treatments as a full-service day spa.

Is this concept new?

Yes. Not only is this concept new, it is on its wayto revolutionizing the way people perceive the Spa Industry. The spa experience is no longer an occasional indulgence, but is an affordable luxury that can be attained more often. The Massage Spot is one of the pioneers in creating this concept.

Who is The Massage Spot?

At The Massage Spot, we have bridged the gap between the "massage only" studios and the full-service day spas. Our motto is "Affordable Luxury". We provide the same atmosphere as a full-service day spa, with dim lighting, candles, soothing music, and a relaxing Zen Area. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff provides the same excellent customer service you would find at any full-service day spa. Our treatments are not only the same quality as a full-service day spa, but we provide them at a more affordable price. We offer a variety of massages, custom facials, waxing, and even airbrush tanning, with treatments starting at only $44. We believe that everyone deserves to experience Luxury, no matter what their budget. The Massage Spot truly is "Affordable Luxury." The Massage Spot also strives to give back to our community through our volunteer Care Program. We have worked with various non-profit organizations in the South Bay. We have also participated in Hospital Care Days, and worked with high-risk orphan children. We are always looking for new ways to help those in need.

What is the difference between us and our competitors?

The biggest difference between The Massage Spot and our competitors is that we are not "massage only," we are a Mini Day Spa. We offer a full menu of affordable day spa services. We also have a variety of retail, which our competitors do not offer. We sell quality facial products, tanning products, scented soy candles, and hand-made bath bars, all at affordable prices. Also with our "Modern meets Zen" atmosphere, The Massage Spot is more relaxing and comfortable than the more clinical atmospheres of our competitors. We are truly one of a kind.

President and CEO:

Sean Struxness is one of those rare souls who unapologetically balances his busy life of building an expanding spa business with communityphilanthropic endeavors, world travel, and a weekly pick-up game of b-ball for good measure.  His life today seems methodically planned like a strategic game of Chess…  But it wasn’t always that way.

As a young man, Sean knew only one thing for certain…  That he wanted to help people in some way and to do work that allowed him the freedom to make his own rules.  Not certain exactly how to make this dream a reality, Sean explored possibilities through a myriad of jobs that include a short stint in the Real Estate and Mortgage industry.

At 18, when given a unique gift of an exceptionally healing massage from a friend, Sean found his calling. That ‘aha’ moment pushed him to explore massage as a profession and he diligently began to research and read everything he could about healing the body through touch.  This, he realized, was how he would help others.

Quickly, a passion developed and Sean enrolled and graduated top of his class from a top-tiered massage school in Salk Lake City, Utah.  Not long after, he packed up his bags and headed westto the land of opportunity.  

Sean’s adventures were abundant, starting with a stint in Palm Springs where he worked in five star resorts and then onto the not-so luxurious life of luxury cruise ships.

Massage took Sean to London, the Mexican Rivera,the Caribbean and beyond. It introduced him to the likes of celebrity beauties: Teri Hatcher, Rebecca Romijn Stamos, Jessica Alba, and Carmen Electra. He was introduced to the best of what spas and massage had to offer and, in an eye-opening way, the worst.

It was the in-between that Sean noticed was missing. A spot where clients could get the customer service that he grew up learning in his home town of Hazen, North Dakota and that was so prominent in the expensive upscale five-star day spas, a spot where therapists knew the body and used massage as an alternative to evasive surgeries, a spot where customers could be pampered like a celebrity for the cost of a designer t-shirt. A spot where simple luxury was accessible.

Sean’s high value for true value became his personal motto as he began to establish his first mini day spa. He designed a bridge between the costly day spa and the massage studio that can now be experienced in any one of his five locations called“The Massage Spot”.

The company has seen measured growth over the last three years since the first opening in Hermosa Beach, CA. They plan to expand and are exploring options of franchise opportunities and private business partnerships.

Cancellation Policy

We value your business and appreciate your cooperation with the cancellation policy. Please respect the spa's scheduling and other patrons by keeping appointments if possible and providing a minimum of twenty-four hours advance notice when cancelling or rescheduling individual treatments to avoid being charged in full for the scheduled treatment or service.
